Straw
Bale Construction Workshops:
Why Attend
a Workshop?
If
you are considering building or remodeling
a home, a workshop will provide a fun
and educational way to learn about the
benefits of straw building while getting
hands-on experience in construction.
Straw bale building is an exciting and
environmentally-friendly way to build
homes, classrooms, greenhouses, commercial
buildings, and virtually any other structure.
Straw bales used as super-insulating
wall material create houses that are
much more fire resistant and energy
efficient than conventional wood-frame
buildings. These homes are comfortable
in hot or cold weather, and save homeowners
money on utility bills. If you add passive
and active solar design the utility
savings are even greater. Come to a
workshop and learn about this easy,
cost-efficient, and sustainable form
of building. No special skills are required!
What Will I Do at the Workshop?
You may
participate to whatever degree you like
from just observing to actually
helping with all the stages of building
straw-bale structures..
Lunch and beverages are provided, along
with specialized tools and instruction
plus lots of fun!
Average Workshop Prices and Duration:
Workshops are usually two to three
days and you may come one, two, or all
three days for $50 per day for most
